Minnesota’s Safe Harbor Law ensures young people who are sexually exploited are treated as victims and survivors, not criminals. Through the No Wrong Door model, these youth can receive trauma-informed support rather than being treated as juvenile delinquents.
In partnership with DHS-OEO’s Safe Harbor initiative, StreetWorks offers a comprehensive interactive training that has been developed in collaboration with youth workers and multidisciplinary professionals from across the state and reflects an evidenced based understanding of client centered care, cultural responsiveness, safety, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction.
While the training was originally based on the StreetWorks training curriculum developed to train outreach workers in the Twin Cities, the training was adapted to train professionals from a variety of roles who do their work in communities across the state.
