Foundations of Outreach in Youth Services: November 2026

The StreetWorks Foundations training is designed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of professionals who work with youth in outreach or community-based contexts.

Come for four (virtual) days of a highly interactive learning space that focus on understanding and integrating our four core principles into each trainee’s unique role and community. Participants will explore their roles as a vital part of their local ecosystems of service and learn key frameworks to inform their work. Participants will practice applying concepts to engage with youth and their communities.

Each day, participants will explore a different level of the ecosystem: themselves as workers; the larger systems; their local communities; and the youth they serve. Through four days, workers will be better ready to serve youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness and/or exploitation, while also building skills for career sustainability.

By the end of the training, our goal is that you will be able to say:

1. I understand the basic roles and responsibilities of outreach and community-based youth workers in each part of the ecosystem

2. I know the StreetWorks four core principles and have started integrating them into my work

3. I have a better understanding of my local community and agency partners

4. I can better serve youth through reflecting on my unique community and by practicing my skills

Foundations consists of 4 engaging and interactive Virtual Classroom Sessions from 10:00 am – 4:30 pm (with a half hour lunch) on the following dates:

• November 3rd
• November 10th
• November 17th
• November 24th

Training Details:

· Registration is required for each participant. No refunds or transfers.

· Cost: $225

· Attendance: Participants must attend each day in order within the training date series listed in their registration

· Virtual Access: Participants must be able to access Zoom on a tablet or laptop/desktop computer with a working camera; participants are required to have their videos on during training. Phones are not recommended.

· Materials: All resources and materials will be available in PDF versions

· Scholarships are available. FAQ’s below.

· CEUs: All trainings are pre-approved for CEUs by the MN Board of Social Work. CEU hours will be reflected on certificates of completion
